RISING STAR DRIVER MICHAEL ANNETT HEADS TO LAKE ERIE SPEEDWAY AS ROOKIE POINTS LEADER
Chicago, IL - June 7, 2006 - Rising Star Driver Michael Annett heads to Lake Erie Speedway holding on as rookie points leader in ASALMS North Series after three races this season. This is the second running of the Erie 100 for the 3/8s mile progressively banked paved oval in Pennsylvania. Kurt Smith, founder of RSDD, said that Michael tested this week at Lake Erie and made changes to the car which should provide some positive results on the track. Annett said, “I am excited to go back. It is a great facility and we learned a lot when we tested out there. I am really focused on having a good qualifying effort so that we can start up front in the race.” Annett is racing in the ASA Late Model Series North Division during their inaugural season this year. He is enrolled in the Rising Star Driver Development program and racing for Lorz Motorsports. Annett, who drives the TMC black and gold #12 Ford Fusion was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. Annett began an ice hockey career at the age of six and retired from minor league hockey at the end of the 2004-05 season after playing for two years on a national championship winning team. The Annett family and TMC have a rich heritage in auto racing spanning a period of over thirty years. Always dreaming of a career in motorsports, this accomplished athlete will now apply his winning ways in the pursuit of the 2006 ASA North rookie of the year title.
