FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH & POWER FOR SPORT (Grades 6th – 8th and 9th – 12th)
- Improve core strength, stabilization, balance and flexibility
- Progressions of Olympic Lifts will be taught and coached along with a complete weight training program that is functional for each athlete's sport
- Energy System Development (ESD-Conditioning) is a focus of every training session
Why this training is important: Training athletic movements, rather than just individual muscles, improves athletic performance and reduces the likelihood of injury.
FUNCTIONAL SPEED FOR SPORT (Grades 6th – 8th and 9th – 12th)
- Start/Acceleration techniques to improve the first 8 to 10 steps of straight-ahead speed
- Techniques for deceleration, change of direction, & reacceleration movements in multiple angles
- Energy System Development (ESD- Conditioning) is a focus of every training session
Why this training is important: Incorporating front-side mechanic drills will improve maximum velocity, the phase of running associated with the brief amount of time the athlete is at top speed. |
