Harber

Ryan Harber, LAT, ATC, CSCS

With an unmatched skill set, Ryan brings 10 years of experience as a professional athlete, certified athletic trainer, and sports performance specialist.  Combining his experience as a pitcher within the Florida Marlins organization with a medical background gives Ryan a unique understanding of why performance enhancement training decreases the risk of injury.

Ryan is the head athletic trainer for Andretti Green Racing (IRL).  He manages all aspects of pit crew and driver fitness to improve performance in the pits and on the track.  Ryan ensures that quick and efficient pit stops are achieved through ergonomic analysis of pit stop videos, technique training, improving muscular balance and core stability, and muscular endurance.  All of these aspects result in a decreased injury potential and an improvement in on-track performance.

Ryan commands the respect from the pit crew members he works with because he has first hand experience in ‘going over the wall’ during races as a rear tire changer.

Ryan’s training approach focuses on total body movement, strength, and stability combined with education and lifestyle training that will yield a balanced athlete with a great understanding of their body and what it takes to maintain optimal function.  He has worked with professional athletes from the NFL, AFL, MLB, IRL, IHL,  major college programs and elite high school athletes.

Ryan graduated with honors from Butler University with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in athletic training in 2002. Ryan was drafted out of Butler University in the seventh round of the Major League baseball free agent draft. He played professional baseball for five seasons within the Florida Marlins organization.
