Adam Shunk

Adam Shunk is a Sport and Performance Neuropsychology Resident at St.Vincent Sports Performance Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. During his training to become a licensed psychologist in both the areas of neuropsychology and sport and performance psychology, Adam conducts neuropsychological evaluations and directs interventions to assist competitive athletes in both the academic setting and the application of mental skills in the sports arena. Adam is training in the applied practice of sport and performance psychology, which involves individual counseling of athletes and consultation services in sport and performance psychology. Indiana University and Purdue University athletic departments are just a couple of Adams clients.

Adam completed his M.A. and Ph.D. training at Ball State University in Educational Psychology with a cognate in Neuropsychology. While attending University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Exercise and Sport Science. Adam completed an internship with the Blackford County Special Education Cooperation, and a clinical internship in neuropsychology at the Indiana Neuroscience Institute at St.Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Adam is also a competitive high jumper who is currently training for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. A few of Adams accomplishments include being a 5-time, All-American, and NCAA championship during his undergraduate training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following college, Adam signed a sports-contract to compete professionally for NIKE, won a USA championship in the high jump and has represented team USA at the IAAF World Championship and the Pan-American Games. Adam is a native of Muncie, Indiana and currently lives in Fishers, Indiana with his wife Patricia.
