Stefan Underwood, CSCS, USAW
Having moved to the U.S. in 2007 and becoming the Coordinator of the East location for St. Vincent Sports Performance in Indianapolis the following year, Stefan continues to merge his passions of science and athletic development. A graduate of Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia, Stefan began his career in research setting assisting with data collection on elite cyclists. Following his graduation in 2004, Stefan moved home to Western Canada where he shifted his career focus and became a Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Athletic Performance division of the nationally recognized Talisman Centre in Calgary, Alberta. The facility was not only a home to developing athletes, but also a training center for Olympic and National Team athletes. It is during this time that Underwood truly deepened his knowledge of Long Term Athletic Development and Energy System Development.
Following his move to the U.S., Underwood landed with St. Vincent where he continues his work with athletes ranging from developing youth to professional. His passion lies in understanding both the art and science of strength and conditioning, implementing scientifically sound principles through the art of coaching.
Stefan holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Science from Edith Cowan University (2004). He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (NSCA – 2005); a Level One Technical Olympic Weightlifting Coach certified by the National Coaching Certification Program in Canada (NCCP – 2006); a Level 1 USATF Coach (2008); a Level 1 USAW Coach (2009) and a Level 1 CrossFit Coach (2009).
